Start Your Morning With Zen a.k.a Peace
You ain’t the only one who wants to walk out life in peace, girlfriend. I can relate. The majority of women can, in fact. Especially because that “pep or bounce” is usually indicative of your level of zen/peace that morning and even the week to come. How you start your morning is crucial to determining how the rest of your day will go.
Walking into the office looking and feeling calm, cool and collected is key to your success; personally and professionally. Even moreso if you’re up to your neck with a work project or dealing with a lazy co-worker. The journey to achieving that “calm, cool, and collected” state of bossin’ up in life is inevitable when you follow your G.P.S. ritual just fifteen minutes each morning.
Find Your Way With G.P.S.
Find your way to cultivating peace in the morning, starting with:
Gratitude improves your attitude! The moment you wake up in the morning, spend five minutes giving gratitude. Even when you think you don’t have it all, focus on what you have today. Keep a gratitude journal and each morning, the moment you wake up, spend five minutes jotting down what you’re grateful for.
Why practice gratitude?
Gratitude reduces toxic, “hater”, emotions like envy and resentment. Don’t be that chick. Gratitude effectively increases your happiness and reduces depression. Find something to be thankful for today, baby girl- that breath you just took is one thing you can count as a blessing!
Prayer/Meditation helps your relax! Prayer is when you speak to God. Meditation is when you give God the airtime to speak to you. And when you combine the two of them for five minutes each morning, you trigger the “relaxation response” in your mind and body. Yup; I think we just found the ultimate “chill pill”!
Why pray and meditate?
Combining prayer with meditation is connected to slowing down your thoughts (you know how they be all over the place, sometimes!), increasing your feelings of control, enhancing your tranquility and alertness and cultivating a mindset of peace. That’s alll you!
Stretching is stress-busting magic! After eight hours of sleep (I hope…cough-cough), your muscles have contracted and this causes you to wake up feeling tense and uneasy. Don’t carry that stuck energy into your morning and day. Stretch your body for five minutes in the a.m. and release what you don’t need, both mentally and physically.
Stretching releases endorphins; those are the hormones that get you feelin’ tranquil, euphoric and optimistic. In other words, get ready to start feeling hella’ at peace both mind and body. Just five minutes of stretching your body each morning can jumpstart you into peacef the next 24 hours!
G.P.S. Made Simple
I know you’re a busy woman, so if fifteen minutes a day sounds like a “forever” moment, then your REALLY need it. Let me keep it simple for you, you NEED it. Slow down and take a moment to breath. You owe it to yourself (and those in yo’ life, let’s be real) to follow your G.P.S.
Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier than usual tonite. Place your journal and pen to the right side of your bed. When you wake up tomorrow morning, go straight to your journal and get to thinking and writing with a grateful heart. Then, before you can think your way out of it, jump onto your mat and stretch the kinks away. Do what feels GOOD for your body! Find stillness, catch your breath, and take a moment to pray and meditate. Then be on your way to having a hella’ peaceful day!
Peace is the goal and my G.P.S. can get you there.
Wishing you an abundance of peace, girlfriend, thank you for reading!
